He is a highly-respected professional who is known by many for his selfless ways.

Rick Caldwell Utah was recently saddened when he visited his favorite spot on the Provo River only to be completely shocked and saddened. The stretch he had fished days earlier was now completely dammed and diverted. According to Rick Caldwell, this incident highlights the conflicts between recreation/rivers and farmers in the area. Many times farmer does have a legal right to divert the river
for his fields. This highlights the problems with the current water laws in Utah. Many feel that the water law needs to change in order to provide in stream flows for the rivers, as well as providing the farmer plenty of water for his fields.

Rick Caldwell really enjoys the outdoor activities that Utah has to offer. He regularly camps, hikes and fishes with his family. He feels that being in touch with nature helps to relax him and make him a better boss at work.
